The Finnish Licensing and Supervision Authority has issued a directive to halt preparatory construction activities at two proposed Google data center locations. The sites, situated in the municipality of Muhos and the city of Kajaani, are currently managed by the project entity Tuike Finland Oy. According to the regulatory body, these operations must cease by October 23 at the latest. This intervention was prompted by the failure to complete mandatory environmental impact assessments before commencing significant site preparation work, which includes activities such as clearing vegetation. The suspension will remain in effect until the necessary legal environmental evaluations are finalized and approved by the relevant authorities.
