A foreign national residing in Thailand recently gained attention on social media after sharing a failed attempt to consume traditional Thai iced tea. The individual, unfamiliar with local street vendor customs, removed the plastic beverage pouch from its paper holder and attempted to insert a straw directly through the side of the bag. This action caused the orange liquid to spill across his workspace and floor. The incident, documented by the Facebook page Edo Eats Wrong, highlighted the confusion surrounding the conventional method of drinking from these plastic pouches. Although the vendor had advised him to insert the straw through the top without removing the rubber band, the expat's attempt to navigate the unique packaging resulted in a messy outcome that amused many online observers.
