The German military is currently assessing thirty distinct artificial intelligence applications designed to accelerate tactical decision-making processes. Vice Admiral Thomas Daum, head of the military's cyber command, indicated that a prototype is anticipated by the second quarter of 2027, with complete operational integration targeted for 2028. This initiative responds to the challenges observed in the Ukraine conflict, where the massive influx of data from drones and satellites necessitates automated processing beyond human capacity. While the majority of the software solutions under consideration are developed by domestic German enterprises, the French company ChapsVision is also participating in the evaluation process. The military leadership has emphasized the strategic importance of these tools in maintaining situational awareness in modern warfare environments.
