The Israeli publication Haaretz has formally declined to comply with three conditions set by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who threatened legal action against the outlet. The dispute stems from a recent article alleging that UAE President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan warned Netanyahu about a potential Hamas attack shortly before October 7, 2023. Netanyahu has publicly refuted these claims, asserting that no such communication occurred. While the UAE Foreign Ministry declined to comment on the matter, Haaretz maintains its stance, confirming it has responded to the Prime Minister’s legal representatives. The newspaper stated it is prepared to defend its reporting, which involves journalists Shlomi Eldar and Ruti Yuval, in a court of law to establish the accuracy of the information provided regarding the alleged pre-attack warning.
