A 59-year-old man was taken into custody by Hong Kong authorities following allegations of indecent assault on the MTR East Rail line. The suspect, identified as a local resident surnamed Luk, was apprehended in Tai Po on Tuesday. The investigation began after a 20-year-old female student reported that she had been touched by a passenger and discovered an unidentified clear liquid on her clothing while traveling between Tai Po Market and Tai Wo stations on Monday evening. Acting Chief Inspector Ng Chin-wang of the Tai Po district crime division confirmed that officers identified the suspect after examining surveillance footage from the transit system. The victim alerted station personnel at Tai Wo immediately after the incident occurred around 7 p.m. Police are currently treating the matter as a case of indecent assault.
