Yemeni Houthi forces announced that Saudi Arabia conducted 58 airstrikes against their positions within a single day. This escalation follows a recent drone and missile strike executed by the Iran-supported group against a Saudi military installation. Tensions have intensified since July, when the Houthis initiated a maritime blockade and targeted vessels in the Red Sea. The group recently secured control over Yemen's Red Sea coastline, strengthening their strategic influence over the Bab al-Mandab Strait. This waterway has become increasingly critical for Saudi oil exports, particularly as the Strait of Hormuz remains inaccessible due to ongoing regional conflicts. Military spokesperson Yahya Saree confirmed the frequency of the Saudi aerial campaign via a Telegram statement, marking a significant uptick in the hostilities between the two sides.
