The International Olympic Committee has officially recognized Qatar as an interested party for the 2036 Olympic and Paralympic Games. This announcement follows the release of a new procedural handbook detailing the revised selection stages for future host cities. Fatima al-Kuwari, the CEO of the Doha 2036 Olympic and Paralympic Bid Committee, stated that this validation marks the start of a multi-stage process. She emphasized that the nation intends to leverage its extensive experience in organizing large-scale international sporting events to present a sustainable and modern vision for the Olympics. Qatar aims to demonstrate that its infrastructure and logistical capabilities make it a suitable candidate for hosting the global competition in 2036.
