Starting October 9, the Republic of Kazakhstan has transitioned its smartphone verification procedures to a unified state-managed system. Users are now required to utilize the official portal imei.gov.kz or the eGov Mobile application to complete these checks. This update consolidates previously fragmented services into a single digital environment, simplifying the user experience. Specifically, the eGov Mobile app now features an "IMEI Verification Request" option within its primary services menu. Consequently, the former platform, kz-imei.kz, has been decommissioned for this purpose. The new integrated process also eliminates the need for users to manually retrieve and attach external documentation, such as border crossing certificates, which were previously required through separate government portals. This administrative shift aims to streamline digital verification tasks for all individual mobile device owners across the country.
