Bagan Member of Parliament Lim Guan Eng has presented a 12-point economic proposal to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim. The initiative, titled 'Malaysia Agenda 12', seeks to bolster national unity and economic growth as the country approaches Malaysia Day. A central component of the plan is the provision of RM25 billion in interest-free, collateral-free loans specifically for 500,000 micro, small, and medium enterprises. Furthermore, Lim suggested a one-year moratorium on interest payments for existing bank loans held by these businesses. He argued that the banking sector, which recorded significant pre-tax profits in 2025, possesses the financial capacity to absorb these costs. The proposal also includes recommendations regarding allocations for non-Bumiputera communities to ensure broader economic inclusivity.
