Leaders associated with the Deuba faction of the Nepali Congress have introduced a set of prerequisites aimed at reconciling internal party divisions and facilitating a unified general convention. Represented by figures such as Min Bishwakarma and Mahalakshmi Upadhyaya, the group is calling for the postponement of separate convention schedules currently issued by competing factions. They advocate for a single, integrated process spanning from ward to central levels to prevent a formal party split. The proposed conditions include the inclusion of members from the 14th general convention in current committees, the maintenance of digital membership systems, and ensuring fair representation for all factions. While the Deuba group has previously challenged the legitimacy of the special general convention in court, they are now engaging in dialogue with President Gagan Thapa to negotiate these terms and potentially participate in a consolidated party event.
