Nepal’s vehicle market, traditionally dependent on foreign imports from India and China, is witnessing a strategic shift toward domestic production. Electric motorcycle manufacturer Yatri has entered a collaboration with Sipradi Trading to design and build the P-2 electric scooter entirely within Nepal. This initiative allows Yatri to leverage its engineering expertise while enabling Sipradi to expand its operations into the two-wheeler sector. By moving beyond simple distribution and sales, the two companies aim to establish a local manufacturing footprint for electric mobility. This partnership represents a significant development in the national automotive industry, as it marks a transition from importing finished goods to developing homegrown technological solutions for the local market.
