The Imam Abdulaziz bin Mohammed Royal Reserve Development Authority has collaborated with the National Center of Wildlife to reintroduce more than 140 spiny-tailed lizards into the King Khalid Royal Reserve. This initiative aims to bolster biodiversity and maintain the ecological balance within the protected area. Before the release, officials conducted thorough field evaluations to ensure the chosen locations provided appropriate natural habitats for the reptiles to thrive. Moving forward, the authorities plan to conduct consistent monitoring of these lizards to observe their behavioral patterns and ensure they successfully adapt to their new surroundings. This project represents a broader ongoing effort by the organization to protect and enhance regional wildlife populations.
