Barrister Gohar Ali Khan, the Chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, recently visited the home of detained lawmaker Abdul Salam Afridi in Mardan to offer support to his family. During his visit, Gohar denounced the arrest, asserting that such measures fail to diminish the resolve of party members. He argued that detaining political figures exacerbates national tensions rather than resolving existing challenges. Gohar emphasized that Imran Khan maintains significant public support, suggesting that political suppression is ineffective. Furthermore, he questioned the sincerity of current calls for dialogue, noting that arrests contradict the necessity of fostering a stable environment for negotiations. He urged for a more constructive approach to resolve the ongoing political instability within Pakistan, insisting that the government must prioritize a peaceful atmosphere to facilitate meaningful discussions.
