During the 81st session of the UN General Assembly’s Third Committee, Qatari representative Amina Abdullah Salat emphasized the nation's ongoing dedication to human rights. Speaking in New York, she stated that Qatar’s domestic policy is built upon the foundations of justice, transparency, and the rule of law. The official noted that the country’s legal and constitutional systems are designed to safeguard the fundamental freedoms and dignity of all individuals. Furthermore, the statement highlighted Qatar's formal accession to the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights as well as the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights in May 2018. These actions serve as evidence of the state's integration of international human rights standards into its national framework.
