The Royal Commission for Riyadh City has officially inaugurated the new Thumamah Road bridge, which opened to motorists early Friday morning. This infrastructure project, located at the intersection with Prince Mohammed bin Salman Road, was finalized following a six-month construction period that commenced in April 2026. The initiative involved replacing an older structure to enhance vehicle movement across a vital east-west corridor in the capital. Engineers successfully navigated complex site conditions, including proximity to Riyadh Metro pillars and the requirement to maintain ongoing traffic flow during the installation of over 3,200 tonnes of structural components. The entire construction phase concluded without any workplace accidents or injuries, marking a significant milestone for urban development in the area.
