Russian Ambassador to Pakistan, Albert Khorev, has formally offered Moscow's assistance in mediating the escalating diplomatic friction between Islamabad and Kabul. During a discussion at the Institute of Strategic Studies Islamabad, Khorev highlighted the negative impact of ongoing border closures on regional trade, specifically noting the disruption to connectivity between Pakistan, Central Asia, and Russia. The envoy expressed concern regarding the current state of bilateral relations, which have been strained by persistent issues surrounding cross-border security. By signaling a willingness to facilitate dialogue, Russia is positioning itself to play a more active diplomatic role in South Asian affairs. The ambassador emphasized the importance of normalizing relations to restore economic flow and stability in the region, noting that these tensions have also become a subject of broader international diplomatic discourse.
