Sarawak State Legislative Assembly Speaker Tan Sri Mohamad Asfia Awang Nassar confirmed that official notification regarding the assembly's dissolution has been submitted to the Election Commission. This action follows the formal declaration signed by Sarawak Governor Tun Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar on October 23. The Speaker noted that the dissolution adheres to Article 21(2) of the State Constitution, which grants the Governor the authority to dissolve the legislative body. The official letter was delivered to Election Commission chairman Datuk Seri Ramlan Harun earlier today. This administrative step follows the announcement made by Sarawak Premier Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg on October 23, which confirmed the dissolution effective October 26. The move officially sets the stage for the upcoming 13th state election in Sarawak.
