The Saudi Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development has outlined new minimum wage requirements for Saudi nationals to be fully counted under the Nitaqat program. Deputy Minister Dr. Abdullah Abuthnain confirmed that these regulations apply to five specific groups: full-time and part-time staff, flexible workers, working students, and individuals with disabilities. The policy will be rolled out in two distinct stages to allow private sector firms time to adjust. The initial phase commences on April 25, 2027, setting the minimum salary at SR5,000. This threshold will subsequently rise to SR6,000 starting April 25, 2028. Authorities have provided a six-month grace period for businesses to align their operations with these upcoming labor standards.
