The Seoul Metropolitan Government has revealed an ambitious plan, backed by an 86.1 trillion-won (approximately $64 billion) investment, to elevate its global standing. The initiative aims for Seoul to be recognized among the world's top three cities by the year 2030. Central to this strategy is the attraction of international talent and the significant improvement of the visitor experience for foreign tourists. To achieve this, the city intends to provide comprehensive support for highly qualified professionals, covering aspects from initial recruitment to housing and long-term residency. Furthermore, authorities are developing an integrated mobile application designed to streamline various services for international visitors, including linking overseas payment systems with public transit, facilitating tax refunds, and offering essential tourist information. This comprehensive approach seeks to foster both economic growth and international appeal.
