Authorities at the Mapo Police Station in Seoul have initiated legal action against two local maid cafes. These establishments were found to be conducting live entertainment shows where female staff members performed songs and dances upon customer request. These sessions, which typically spanned between 30 and 60 minutes, were priced at 15,000 to 20,000 won per performance. Such activities are in direct contravention of the Food Sanitation Act, which forbids personnel at standard dining establishments from engaging in entertainment-related services like singing or dancing for patrons. The investigation highlights ongoing regulatory scrutiny regarding the operations of these themed cafes within the capital city.
