A police officer stationed at the Dongdaemun Police Station in Seoul has been taken into custody following allegations of producing and disseminating hundreds of sexually explicit deepfake images generated by artificial intelligence. Authorities also discovered that the suspect was in possession of approximately 5,600 illicit sexual files, which reportedly include materials depicting the sexual exploitation of minors. The officer, who worked within the traffic division, was apprehended in September. Investigations are currently underway regarding these serious charges involving the creation of fabricated sexual content and the storage of illegal exploitation material.
