Members of the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) held a meeting with Marc-André Franche, the United Nations Resident Coordinator in Sri Lanka, to address concerns regarding the current state of democracy and the rule of law. According to SLPP representative Milinda Rajapaksha, the discussion was part of a broader series of engagements with international diplomats stationed in Colombo. The party delegation expressed apprehension about what they characterized as systemic authoritarianism and the risks posed by single-party dominance to judicial independence. During the session, the SLPP members specifically highlighted ongoing legal matters, including the Krrish transaction case and a separate investigation involving Airbus, as points of concern regarding the country's governance and legal integrity.
