The Everest View Trail Race, hosted by the Mapya Dudhkoshi Rural Municipality in Solukhumbu, has secured formal international status. The event, designed to foster tourism, environmental preservation, and athletic growth, is now acknowledged by the France-based Ultra-Trail organization. Furthermore, the International Trail Running Association has granted the competition three points. These points are awarded to participants based on the course's elevation and technical difficulty, serving as essential qualifications for entry into other high-profile global trail races. Buddhikiran Rai, the chair of the rural municipality, stated that this achievement validates the local government's strategy of integrating sports with culture, nature, and adventure tourism. Officials expect this international validation to further bolster the region's profile as a premier destination for trail runners.
