South Korean Ambassador to Ukraine, Park Ki-chang, arrived back in Seoul on Saturday. This return follows a formal recall issued by the South Korean Foreign Ministry earlier in the week. The diplomatic move serves as a protest against the Ukrainian government’s public acknowledgment regarding the transfer of North Korean prisoners of war to South Korea. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy had disclosed details of this transfer, leading to a disagreement between the two nations. Kyiv subsequently denied that there was any prior mutual agreement to maintain confidentiality regarding the movement of these two North Korean soldiers. The South Korean government initiated this recall to express its dissatisfaction with how the sensitive information was handled by Ukrainian authorities.
