The Korea Composite Stock Price Index experienced a sharp decline of 3.65 percent on Monday, marking four consecutive days of losses. This downturn was primarily driven by a significant sell-off in technology shares, as investors reacted to persistent inflation fears and rising oil prices. The benchmark index concluded the trading session at 6,384.24 points, reflecting a loss of 241.69 points. Despite the overall market volatility, the South Korean won appreciated against the US dollar. Market activity remained moderate throughout the day, with a total trading volume of 313 million shares recorded, representing a value of 21.33 trillion won. The ongoing economic uncertainty continues to exert downward pressure on Seoul's financial markets.
