A 42-year-old man has been placed under a seven-day police remand until October 10 following the death of his elder brother in Kampung Banggol Tasek, Marang. The suspect, who reportedly has a mental disability, was ordered into custody by the Kuala Terengganu Court Assistant Registrar at Sultanah Nur Zahirah Hospital. The investigation is being conducted under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder. The incident occurred yesterday morning when the 43-year-old victim was allegedly struck with a blunt object. During the altercation, the victim's 36-year-old sister sustained injuries while attempting to intervene and remains hospitalized. According to Terengganu police chief Datuk Mohd Khairi Khairudin, the suspect allegedly harbored resentment toward his brother due to the victim's frequent requests for money from their parents.
