The Special Court in Kathmandu has issued a verdict against Bikal Paudel, the former executive director of the Security Printing Centre, regarding a significant corruption case. A judicial panel consisting of Basudev Acharya, Umesh Koirala, and Bidur Koirala concluded that Paudel was involved in the illegal acquisition of assets totaling Rs 419.4 million. Consequently, the court mandated the confiscation of property equivalent to this amount and imposed a matching fine. Despite the scale of the financial misconduct, Paudel received a prison sentence of two and a half years, with an additional six-month term added due to his status as a special-class government official. As Paudel is currently detained and faces substantial financial penalties, he will remain in custody while the legal process continues.
