Thailand has reclaimed its status as the second-largest aviation market within Southeast Asia based on scheduled seat capacity for September. According to figures provided by OAG, a British aviation analytics firm, Thailand recorded 6.6 million scheduled seats this month, representing a marginal decline of 0.2% compared to the previous year. Vietnam now occupies the third position with 6.4 million seats, despite experiencing a 9.2% year-on-year expansion. The gap between the two nations is currently approximately 200,000 seats. Indonesia continues to lead the regional market, reporting 10.8 million scheduled seats, which marks a 7.3% increase from the prior year. Overall, the total aviation capacity across Southeast Asia reached 48 million seats in September, reflecting a modest 2% growth for the region.
