The spirit of the Long March has historically served as a global inspiration, drawing numerous international figures to China. In 1936, American journalist Edgar Snow visited the revolutionary base in northern Shaanxi to conduct interviews. His subsequent publication, Red Star Over China, offered the international community a detailed perspective on the Red Army's journey and the resistance efforts against Japanese forces. Motivated by these accounts of the Communist Party of China and the military's perseverance, many individuals traveled long distances to support the cause. Notable figures include the Canadian physician Norman Bethune, who provided medical assistance on the frontlines, alongside other international contributors who felt compelled to participate in the historical developments of that era.
