Three former leaders of the Hong Kong Alliance in Support of Patriotic Democratic Movements of China are scheduled to receive their sentences this Friday at the West Kowloon Law Courts Building. Albert Ho, Lee Cheuk-yan, and Chow Hang-tung were convicted under the national security law and could face up to ten years in prison. The group was previously responsible for organizing annual vigils in Victoria Park to commemorate the Tiananmen Square incident. These public gatherings were prohibited in 2020 and 2021, with authorities citing public health concerns related to the Covid-19 pandemic. The upcoming court appearance follows the legal proceedings initiated against the organization's former leadership.
