A 21-year-old member of the United States Marine Corps, identified as Corporal Kalvin Montoya Cardona, was taken into custody by local authorities early Saturday morning. The serviceman, who is stationed at Camp Hansen, was apprehended on suspicion of operating a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol. This incident occurred in direct violation of the existing curfew regulations currently enforced by the U.S. military command in Okinawa. Local law enforcement officials are handling the case as the investigation into the alleged traffic offense proceeds.
