The Loss and Damage Fund has officially replied to Nepal’s urgent plea for financial aid following severe flooding in the Rasuwa district. On September 1, the Nepalese government submitted a formal request to the UN-affiliated climate fund, citing climate change as a primary driver for the catastrophic floods that occurred on August 26. Authorities in Kathmandu confirmed that the board provided a response one week after the initial submission. Furthermore, the government has projected that approximately Rs 723 billion will be required to facilitate reconstruction efforts in the areas impacted by the disaster. This development marks a significant step in Nepal's attempt to secure international support for climate-induced calamities.
