Local authorities in Dehiwala are investigating a hand grenade attack that occurred late Tuesday night at a residence in Kalubowila. Two individuals on a motorcycle reportedly threw the explosive device through the property gate at approximately 11:45 pm. While the blast shattered windows and damaged the front of the home, the sole occupant, a 56-year-old woman, remained unharmed. Preliminary police findings suggest the target of the attack is an associate of a prominent drug trafficker. Officers from the Kohuwala Police Station have initiated a formal inquiry to identify the suspects and determine the motive behind the assault. No arrests have been made as the investigation continues.
