United States Central Command (CENTCOM) reported that its forces neutralized a commercial cargo ship in the Gulf of Oman on Saturday. The Panama-registered vessel, identified as the M/V Ocean Molica or Arika Sun, was targeted after the crew failed to respond to multiple warnings. According to military officials, the ship was attempting to bypass an active naval blockade while departing from an Iranian port. A fighter jet was utilized to strike and disable the vessel's propulsion system. CENTCOM maintains that this action was necessary to enforce the ongoing maritime restrictions imposed on ships traveling to or from Iran. The incident occurred as part of broader efforts by U.S. forces to monitor and control regional waters.
