Senior advisor Heather Variava stated that American investments in the Philippines are designed to prioritize high regulatory standards and provide clear public advantages while avoiding local disruption. Variava emphasized that all bilateral agreements are structured to satisfy the legal mandates of both the United States and the Philippines. This statement follows a recent protest in Taguig City, where demonstrators gathered during the Luzon Economic Corridor event to express their opposition to the development of the industrial hub.
