Polina Kudermetova and Maria Timofeeva from Uzbekistan have secured a spot in the doubles final at the WTA 250 Guangzhou Open. During the semi-final match, the pair overcame Janice Tjen of Indonesia and American Venus Williams in a three-set contest ending 6–4, 6–7 (8–10), 10–6. After winning the first set and narrowly losing the second in a tie-break, the Uzbek athletes clinched the victory in a decisive match tie-break. They are now set to compete for the title against Taiwan’s Yi-Hsuan Cho and Yi-Tsen Cho on November 1, 2026. The tournament, hosted in China, concludes at the start of November.
