During a C5+1 ministerial meeting in Samarkand, Uzbekistan’s Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov emphasized that Central Asia has become more cohesive and autonomous since the platform's inception in 2015. Engaging with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Saidov advocated for moving beyond bilateral relations toward leveraging the region's collective potential. His proposal focuses on enhancing economic connectivity, integrating advanced technologies, and fostering investment. A key priority identified by Uzbekistan is the development of a strategic partnership regarding critical minerals, spanning from exploration to industrial processing. By combining Central Asia's abundant resources and human capital with American expertise and capital, the minister aims to create tangible benefits for the region. As Uzbekistan takes on a co-chairing role, the government intends to prioritize the practical implementation of existing agreements to ensure long-term stability and prosperity.
