A master’s degree student in Bangkok is demanding updates from local authorities after being assaulted near her university in the Asok district. On October 3, the victim was walking to class when she was confronted by a transwoman who accused her of following her before initiating a physical altercation. The assailant punched the student and subsequently used scissors to inflict a wound that required seven medical stitches. Following the incident, the student has experienced significant psychological distress. On October 26, she sought assistance from the non-profit group Saimai Survive to pressure the Thong Lo Police Station, as she claims there has been a lack of progress regarding her initial report. The organization is now advocating for the victim to ensure the investigation into the morning assault proceeds.
