Global oil markets experienced a notable surge on Wednesday as Brent crude futures climbed above the 100-dollar mark for the first time since late July. This increase, representing a more than six-week high, follows escalating hostilities in the Middle East that have sparked fears regarding potential supply disruptions. Brent crude rose by over two percent, while West Texas Intermediate also saw gains. Market volatility has been driven by the ongoing conflict involving Iran and the United States, with prices rising significantly since early August. Recent strikes on Saudi Arabian energy infrastructure by Houthi forces have further intensified concerns, as these attacks threaten to broaden the scope of the regional instability. Investors remain cautious as the prospect of a lasting diplomatic solution appears increasingly unlikely, contributing to the sustained upward pressure on energy commodities.
