Following a significant mudslide on August 26 in Gyirong County, Xizang Autonomous Region, Chinese authorities have implemented extensive humanitarian and coordination efforts. During a recent media briefing, officials detailed the establishment of specialized communication lines to assist the families of foreign nationals affected by the disaster. Furthermore, China has initiated a structured information-sharing process with Nepal and is actively providing emergency supplies and technical expertise at the request of the Nepalese government. Rescue operations remain ongoing in the impacted areas, particularly around Gyirong Port. Current reports indicate that 261 foreign citizens from 23 different countries are still unaccounted for, prompting continued collaborative efforts to manage the crisis and support those impacted by the environmental catastrophe.
