International climate summits, including the upcoming COP31 in Antalya, Turkey, are often characterized by a recurring pattern of new commitments that fail to translate into tangible action. A significant concern is the disparity between financial aid pledges made by wealthier nations and the actual funds delivered to developing countries, which are disproportionately affected by climate change impacts. This gap between promise and reality has become a defining aspect of global climate diplomacy. Rather than seeking further pledges, the immediate priority should be to ensure that the financial resources already allocated or promised effectively reach the communities and nations most in need, addressing the urgent challenges they face.
