The Department of Education and the Department of Budget and Management have clarified that 31.22 billion pesos remains available to recruit 64,530 public school teachers. This statement addresses concerns regarding potential funding gaps in the 2027 national budget proposal. While the National Expenditure Program for 2027 does not include provisions for creating new Teacher I roles, officials emphasized that existing authorized vacancies remain fully funded. Education Secretary Sonny Angara stated that the recruitment process will continue, with the primary objective being the swift placement of qualified educators into these open positions to meet institutional needs. Of the total available posts, 31,614 are currently designated for immediate filling.
