Habib Ahmadzadeh’s documentary, Ameneh’s Golden Blood, recently premiered concurrently at York University in Canada and Tarikh Café in Tehran. The film chronicles the true story of a young girl from Bushehr who requires a transfusion of an extremely rare blood type known as Rh-null. The narrative details the global search led by physician Mostafa Moqaddam to secure this life-saving resource, emphasizing themes of medical necessity and international collaboration. In Toronto, the screening included a discussion on the impact of sanctions on healthcare access, while the Tehran event featured insights from local film experts. To facilitate global awareness, the documentary has been translated into 55 languages and is accessible for free on the Iranian platform Aparat. The project serves as a platform to examine the complexities of rare medical conditions and the importance of human solidarity during critical health crises.
