During the BAETE National Symposium 2026 held in Dhaka, specialists emphasized the necessity of updating engineering education to sustain international standards. Participants argued that academic programs must transition toward a model that balances theoretical foundations with practical, industry-relevant problem-solving abilities. To achieve this, the speakers recommended implementing comprehensive policy reforms, enhancing the pedagogical skills of faculty members, and establishing rigorous evaluation frameworks. Furthermore, the symposium highlighted the importance of fostering deeper partnerships between academic institutions and the private sector to bridge the gap between classroom learning and professional demands. Organized by the Board of Accreditation for Engineering and Technical Education under the Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh, the event served as a platform to discuss the future of technical training and the role of accreditation in maintaining educational quality within the country.
