Rakesh Mehta, a retired IAS officer from the 1975 batch, has died by suicide. During his distinguished career, he served in various high-ranking administrative capacities, most notably as the Chief Secretary of Delhi during the tenure of former Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit. Additionally, he held significant leadership roles within the Municipal Corporation of Delhi. Reports indicate that the retired official had been residing by himself during his final period. Authorities are currently looking into the circumstances surrounding his death.
