The Yihai Lake region in Sichuan Province, historically significant for the 1935 alliance between Red Army General Liu Bocheng and Yi chieftain Xiaoyedan, is experiencing a contemporary transformation. This pact, which secured safe passage for the Red Army, now serves as a cultural foundation for regional tourism. In 2025, the area attracted 132,000 visitors, providing substantial economic benefits to nearby communities. Specifically, Jiemeng Xinzhai in Yihai Village has utilized this heritage to foster development since its 2016 reconstruction. The integration of historical narratives with natural scenery has improved living standards for local residents, illustrating how historical sites can evolve into engines for rural revitalization and economic progress in modern China.
