Members of the Congressional Pakistan Caucus have formally praised the Punjab provincial government for its efforts to modernize the local brick kiln industry. In a letter to Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, Congressmen Thomas Suozzi and Jack Bergman highlighted that these reforms are essential for tackling environmental issues and eradicating the systemic practice of bonded labor, which currently affects millions in the country. The lawmakers suggested that by mechanizing the sector, Punjab could improve its compliance with international labor standards and become a more appealing hub for ethical foreign investment from the United States. They emphasized that this initiative serves as a significant step toward strengthening bilateral economic ties and offered their continued support for the provincial administration's commitment to these transformative changes.
