During a recent graduation ceremony at the Police College, Andrew Kan, the director of the national security department, instructed 127 new police officers to maintain high levels of vigilance. Kan emphasized that potential threats to national security are frequently concealed within local communities and have become increasingly difficult to detect. He specifically cautioned the new recruits to be proactive in identifying and neutralizing risks associated with ideological infiltration, external interference, and forms of soft resistance. The address, delivered to 17 probationary officers and 110 constables, underscored the administration's ongoing focus on preemptive security measures. Kan highlighted that these dangers often exist in subtle forms, requiring law enforcement to remain alert to prevent instability before it escalates.
