The General Operations Force (GOF) Southeast Brigade has reported that human trafficking syndicates are increasingly employing advanced technology to bypass border security. Commander Ahmad Radzi Hussain stated that criminal groups are using drones to monitor law enforcement activities and leveraging social media platforms to coordinate their operations. These syndicates frequently alter their transit routes, timing, and logistical methods to remain undetected. Traffickers have shifted their activities from the Sungai Golok area to alternative paths, including sea routes and smaller river crossings like Sungai Kelantan. Once undocumented migrants successfully enter Malaysia, they are moved to temporary transit points before being transported to their final destinations using private cars, public transport, or e-hailing services. In response, the GOF is continuously updating its surveillance and enforcement strategies to counter these evolving tactics used by trafficking networks.
