Hyundai Steel has successfully concluded a collective bargaining agreement involving unions from four of its subsidiary firms. This development represents the inaugural labor deal between a primary parent corporation and subcontracted employees since the implementation of South Korea's updated labor union legislation six months ago. According to an announcement from the Ministry of Employment and Labor on Thursday, the agreement was signed at the steelmaker's headquarters. The four participating subsidiaries involved in this negotiation are Hyundai ITC, Hyundai IEC, Hyundai IMC, and Hyundai ISC. This milestone highlights the practical application of the recent legal revisions regarding labor relations and subcontracting structures within the South Korean industrial sector.
